I blame you for getting me interested in Bermuda :)
Just found a few facts about them and thought i'd share...
The 15 players of the team were selected from a total of 35 active players.. and the entire population is only about 65,000.. (Eden Gardens holds 100,000)
Also another thing, 14 of the 15 team members were born in Bermuda(Saleem Mukkedem is the only exception) unlike the expatriate-filled associate member teams we have had in most World Cups..
I'd like to see more of a fight from them, maybe against Bangladesh.. India in their proverbial kindness may make it their day too!
@ Jason: Am telling you buddy, that ratio of players to population might actually bring us to the conclusion that at a sporting event like the scale of a WC , Bermuda is probably the biggest minnow in the history of all-sport!
@Ashok: Be strong man,I'm disappointed too but we shall strike back! ;-)
Bermuda is often represented in the Olympic Games, though it has only won a single medal (in boxing). It also frequently attends other large sports tournaments, though its small size proves to be an obstacle in building up strong sports figures ^^^^^ From Wikipedia.
While we may mock Bermuda's cricketing prowess it turns out that when it comes to Olympics they are as good as us !
